But the speaker doesn't fit.I added a quarter inch of washers behind each screw and all is well.Easy install with wire harness adapter (NuIth Car Speaker Wiring Harness Connector Adapter Replacement for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Eagle/Plymouth 1991-2007 Aftermarket Door Speaker Wire Cable Plug 2 PC ) and adapter plate (Metra 82-1011 Jeep Wrangler 1997-2006 4 X 6 Inches Speaker Plate, BLACK ). Repalced failed OEM front kickplate speakers in 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ. Sounds good. I wasn't looking for high end speakers since the jeep is noisy anyway, and these speakers provide adequate sound at a good price and were simple to install. The construction is good. Used in a 1191 Chevy truck. My Prime streaming app recently blew out my speakers when I reversed the video and the sound automatically increased to the maximum volume. Luckily only my old front wired speakers blew out. I took it apart and replaced the bad speakers with these Boss speakers. They didn’t fit exactly so I had to be a little creative (and lucky) with putting in the screws that hold down the speakers. But the sound is great and since the wattage is much higher with these new Boss speakers, it should avoid the problem of possibly blowing out the speakers if the volume increases when I rewind while using the Prime app. As for the volume increase problem with the app, I have no idea why it started doing that or how to solve it but I’ll keep investigating and provide an update if it gets resolvedUsed for golf cartInstalled in a 2004 Toyota Camry front doors with adapter (spacer) rings and wiring kit. Sounds great and quickly replaced blown out speakers with adequate magnet to door glass clearanceOrder this item as it showed as a direct replacement for 1980 dodge diplomat. I also ordered front speakers. Front speakers (3.5 inch) fit with no issues. Please note: 6 x 9 speakers are to big for 1980 dodge diplomat. Actual size needed 5 x 7 . As replacing factory speakers and stereo, I am having to dis-assemble much of dash to access front speakers and while I can access speakers through trunk, I am having to remove rear seat as to run new wiring, as factory wiring (1 wire from speakers) does not work with stereo system upgrade.I used this 6.5” speaker as a replacement for the speaker from my Job Rocker Max with a minor modification. This speaker is about an inch less in diameter (I forget exactly). It still will seat in the cabinet, but the outer frame cannot reach to the screw holes to mount the speaker. I used those plastic mirror holder clips (normally used to mount a full length mirror to a door). Then I went to Home Depot to get longer screws (1”) to be able to reach through the plastic clip. I think I used six, but four would probably work.So $13 for the speaker and another $5 for mirror clips and screws and the unit is back in business. This assumes you already have a soldering gun to disconnect and reconnect the new speaker. The performance is similar to the old speaker. It seems to have a little less bass response, perhaps owing to the smaller size. The units are not about high fidelity, but rather portable music or amplification. I was glad I was able to save the unit for under $20. It probably took me more than an hour taking it apart and going for parts, etc., but I would have hated to just throw it away when I know it could be fixed.I looked at ION’s website for replacement parts. I could not find it. There was a phone number, but my guess was that this would be a hassle and more expensive. Maybe I was wrong, but how hard is it to list the speaker for order.I don’t know if my rating is fair. The speaker sounds like the cheap speaker it replaced. But that is a great value for $13. If you are going to be real picky about the sound, you shouldn’t be buying $13 speakers. For the price, which is simply incredible, these are 5-star speakers. I picked up 2 for a home stereo project (bookshelf mini-speakers). They arrived incredibly fast and were clam-shelled for extra protection. See picture below for contents.Speaker is 4" square. The leads are marked, but it is really faint; I used a flashlight to read the polarities. Speakers were tested on a Pioneer amp. At 25 watts (4 Ohm impedance) they were clear, loud, and without distortion. The bass registers but is nothing to write home about. The woofer does pick-up beautiful midranges clearly and with an audiophile level not expected for the price. It is a dual cone, so the tweeter is is a whizzer that really can't pick up the high range treble and is mediocre, but passable. The next test was at 50W - likely overdriven somewhat (~55W). Sound output was very good; loud, mostly clear and unexpectedly crisp on midrange (with limited bass) - it played a house mix with boom. Again, the treble suffered; it started to distort on treble laden rock songs (despite the amp actively filtering the signal). Despite this distortion, the speakers are surprisingly good, better than expected, and at that price... need I say more?Missing information from product description: These use Wizzar Cones. Maybe someone could add 2-3 more screenshots of the product so we know? That being said, these guys sound great. Very crisp Mid's, I wasn't expecting that kind of quality from $10 replacement parts, even after reading reviews, but the quality is there. These are currently being used as Mid's for a pair of speakers with 10 Inch woofers and 3 inch tweeters, and they sounds exceptionally well, especially for the price tag.A few side notes:- These lack bass, but I don't think they were ever intended for bass.- They come with plastic adapters for certain vehicles, in case you are replacing 4x6 Speakers.- These use Wizzar cones, not bumped dust caps.- The power rating seems correct, but I would not push these to any limits.- The driver uses exactly 4" inch of diameter so the hole needs to be 4" inch, the metal sides give the total width of about 4.5" inches. The actual specs for these little beauties (as printed all over the box and on the speakers) are as follows:50 Watts Peak Power Handling;25 Watts RMSFrequency Response, 100Hz-18kHzPolypropylene Cone MaterialMounting Depth, 1.75-Inch4 ohmDon't know where 60/120W came from - probably those special kind of watts.Have not installed these yet, so perhaps the rating might improve. They are nice looking if that matters to you. This product receives 5 stars due to the extremely quick shipping, even with the shipping I had being the non-PRIME free shipping, and the lowest cost per speaker within Canada at the time of purchase that I could find. The only real gripe is that the rear insert of the packaging I received mistakenly refers to the 'BRS35' speakers as being 4" instead of the true 3.5" that they are, as advertised.Likely a printing error, and though it causes no issues, it may cause confusion if one were to order a number of these to sell.Installation was fairly easy, though it was necessary to modify the mounting holes on my dash due to these speakers having a two-tab mount instead of the, antiquated, three-hole.All-in-all, not an issue with the speakers; an issue with the car. While I have not installed the product yet, I am going to review it outside of the merits of sound, since this speaker is truly nothing more than the most affordable replacement speaker I could find.5 stars here, mainly because it is affordable, and even includes a plastic panel that, while not very strong, nor providing a full seal without additional materials, can be used to mount the speaker on rectangular mounts. This is something that is a very nice addition to the product, but it not actually included in the description. In any case, I am certain that this speaker will be a nice upgrade from my 1988-era West Germany-manufactured paper-cone OEM speakers.
