When test driving various Xterras to decide what we wanted, my wife and I happened to stumble upon one with a Rockford Fosgate system (Nissan put them in stock on the SE models)... and we were blown away. We decided that no matter what I bought, I was getting a Rockford system, even if I installed it myself. Now, the fact that my wife even noticed a difference is significant. I have very particular taste in sound quality, and these meet and exceed my expectations. They were fairly easy to install, and have an amazing range, with great bass. I have cranked up my stereo quite loud, and never heard a single bit of distortion or crackling coming from these (I wouldn't expect to, considering their wattage rating exceeds what my stereo can even put out...) I was considering running and amp and subwoofer, and decided after installation was complete that there absolutely is no need to do so. I have them paired with a set of Rockford Fosgate 6.75" Co-axial Primes in the rear.The only complaint I have is I now have to buy a second set for my wife.... she loves listening to music in my X. :) All in all great speakers, and I highly recommend them.One thing to note, however, these do require a separate bracket (obviously not included) to install to the front doors of a Nissan Xterra, the only reason I say anything is to stop anyone from thinking this will be a straight install into an Xterra.
