Not advertised as battery operatedThese speakers suck!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to change the batteries every day and they don't even go that loud. These are the worst speakers ever.I got this for my birthday it think 2 years ago, I have replaced the batteries once in two years of use, I used them a lot more in the past year or so but still, one battery change in two years! They have great sound just no bass but I would recomend this id you don't want to pay 200$ for a way to amplify your music while you do homework
