Well, as at least one other reviewer stated, the screw holes are too short. I guess they did not want to punch through the case. ??? Re-drill and thread or just add a washer. I'm using these as external speakers for radio scanners and shortwave rx so I don't really need the bracket. These speakers work and sound very good for that. 5 ways used to be available that were exactly the same except for the grill with label and had a crinkle paint finish. Those have the screw holes drilled all the way through - I have about 10 of them. As external speakers for rx you should put on the little stick on feet dots so they don't scratch. I bought two sets. Would buy again for the same purpose, external radio speakers that sound good whether it is voice or music. Sound better than a $16+tax RS item.Shop around and get what you expect, for the price you paid. These are a great deal for the twenty I spent. They are not Bose, the power rating is way overexaggerated. Do not plan on using these with a power amp, just run them straight from the head unit. Anyone that knows anything about stereo equipment will know what to expect. They aren't made for blasting volume, they aren't made for heavy bass, they don't reproduce studio quality sound. They play music at reasonable listening volumes, clear enough to justify their cost. We bought these for salon speakers in a cabin cruiser, running a set inside and a set on the upper deck, from one head unit. We use the fader control to adjust volume to suit each area. They work and only required 2 small screw holes per bracket. The knobs hold them in place no matter how much the boat bounces.OkThe poor craftmanship should of tipped me off as the mounting holes in one of the speakers was threaded rather than sent them back I tapped them myself. I am not impressed with the sound of the speakers! And to top it off the speakers did not arrive on the delivery date.The Quality isn't as Good as Hoped for ...I'm hitting them w/ a 100 wattzand they don't go no where loud as my Peavey Speakers ...I Guarantee you won't be happy with them if your looking for Loudness and Quality ....Please dont waste your money on these. They sound TERRIBLE and make crackling noises. It's a terrible sounding system. Poor sound qualityI bought speakers just like these many many years ago when companies started to LIE big time about power handling being hundreds of watts.They blew in 20 seconds with a 50 watt RMS amp turned up half way.So I took them apart and found fake speakers, not even wires running to them, only 4 inch was actually a speaker.They were about 20-30 bucks back then and of course got ripped off as wouldn't take return so I used cases and mounts, threw in a quality 4 inch JBL full range with 4 inch magnet and tweeters from RS and they rocked for front of car with pyle 4x10s in door to round off.Use your heads and don't expect anything near the max watts on any speaker.200/400 watts is like Free Shipping. Empty Promises.I put these in my car in the footwell. Sadly they don't really sound all that good. As well, it didn't take much to distort the sound that they did give out.I have these speakers for many years now and I am very statisfied of the sound.
